Leaving a tenancy early

Hello, I think I know the answer, butI'm desperate enough to ask on the off chance someone has an idea.

I've moved into a flat for about a month, and I absolute hate it. I'm not entitled to a parking permit so I have to rent a space in the expensive monthly 'reduced parking'.

No one will deliver a bloody washing machine (3 well known companies tried, PC world Ao, Argos. They say there's no where to park.

My bins haven't been collected since I've moved and the area is trashed. Flat occupants are generally loud and dump their rubbish everywhere. There are more trivial reasons involving boilers and thermostats.

I'm so miserable here i really need a way out. My contract is until end of Feb.

Unless you can agree an early surrender with the LL then you are liable until the end of the tenancy. Read...

You were asked for more info on your last post by people who may have been able to help

Have you spoken to the agent about the washing machine issue? Presumably the previous occupants had one?

I'm surprised they don't deliver due to parking. Most delivery drivers for these companies just pull up regardless of their surroundings

Maybe a local company could assist or you could ask whoever deals with permits for dispensation for the delivery
  • You can leave any time you like, but remain liable for rent.
  • Hello @AmyTa Have you tried speaking to the Lettings Agent or Landlord?  In some circumstances, they will allow it but you have to pay their fee in trying to source a replacement tenant.  I am sorry you are going through problems so soon after moving in.  Speak to the Lettings Agent or Landlord, let them know what effect this is having on your mental health and well-being.  You never know until you speak to them.. They may be willing to compromise.  All the best.
