Hope it all turns out OK.
And please keep the thread updated.

I have had the same problem with this person Elliot Wilson. Let me know how you get on with the Police as I have contacted them too. More specifically at Holbeck Sgt Corley who has had reports in the past about this so called Elliot Wilson. Cheers0 -
I appreciate that this is tricky (and that at least one post has been removed). But - is anyone able to tell me whether the letting agency and the (supposed?) landlord are meant to be working together? I confess that I have a strange vested interest. I am writing an essay question about fraud for my darling snowflake students and this might be quite a good one!!!!Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000

Hi just an update for you all.
It is confirmed that the letting agency “Bellway Residential” was a Scam, and that “Elliot Wilson” is the owner of the company. He is also the owner of several other companies which includes http://www.noburesidential.com/ Very remarkable resemblance I must say to http://www.bellwayresidential.com/
I though that I would do some digging around. It turns out that “Elliot Wilson” was living in the apartment where now in for 2 months. After finding this out I got in contact with BT as there was a phone line already connected when we moved in. I explained everything that had gone on and that we had just moved in. I then asked if it was possible to be sent an immediate itemised bill. This arrived on Saturday morning. I have to say it was a bit of an interesting read. In 2 months he ran up a bill of £800 +. Most of which was on a 0845 internet number which was about £700. He had also been ringing Manchester, Birmingham, Milton kens, London just to name a few as well as a lot of mobile numbers. He had rang 8 mobile numbers on the day he gave us the keys, so I decide that I would ring these and find out if they have had any contact with a letting agency or somebody under the name of “Elliot Wilson”. Surprisingly they have all had contact with his and parted with deposits on the promise that they would be moving into a new place in Nottingham. One of the people I had spoke with had just handed the deposit over an hour before I rang them. I informed them all to call the police immediately. I’m hoping that he can be stopped in Nottingham before he does too much damage there.
We was in contact with out landlord on Saturday, he has passed a copy of our contract onto his solicitor so he can verify if it is legal. He wont say anything until this Wednesday when he says his solicitor will be back in contact with him.
When I get more details I will update you all again.
Thanks a lot for all your advice and information you have all givern0 -

So was the 'landlord' that turned up at your apartment 'ranting and raving'
on the 10th December, your real landlord, or somebody else impersonating him?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
He was the real landlord. We have both been scammed basically. We have lost our deposit, where the landlord has lost his rent which he hasn’t been receiving.

HiI have just been reading your experiences with this 'Elliott', we also agreed to rent a property with him this October and handed over the full deposit in cash. When we went to meet him to pick up the keys he advised us that the property was no longer available. We requested our deposit back and of course still to this day we have not had it back. On Sat he promised he would send the money to my bank on monday, this obviously isnt going to happen. I am going to the please to report this tomorrow also. Please can you keep me informed of any details info you find out. We have his personal mobile number which he gave out accidentally one day. I would like to see this guy to justice even if we never see our money again. If anyone else has any info that may be of use please feel free to get in touch with me.Thanks0
