Kitchen fitting & renovation

Hi- looking for a sense check on this quote, please!
I am looking to fit a new kitchen into a tenement flat (Scotland) which needs a fair bit of tlc.
I have already measured up and sourced units from diykitchens, but what i need is the room to be plastered entirely (very very rough around the edges and it is 17m2 square room with 3metre ceilings so a large job to be fair), 4-5 of the units to have their carcasses amended to work with the odd dimensions of the room, an extra 6 feet of gas piping to reach the location of a range, and a false mantel wall to be built up around the range to house a recirculating extractor. (Im assuming this could essentially be a stud wall as it serves no other purpose besides being decorative to be honest). Ive also included refitting a radiator and reversing the hinges of the kitchen door. Pus placing vinyl flooring.
The other tasks - fitting around 8 fully assembled cabinets (no wall units either!), cutting and fitting 5metres of solid surface worktop, hooking up four integrated appliances, a few new sockets/light fittings... all seem pretty standard for that kind of job.
My first quote to complete this was £8000. Is that a bit on the high side? Comparably, i could have the plastering done separately for 1-1.5k and the straight up unit fitting would be around 2k, based on what other people are being charged for similar. Should the rest of the work really come to 5k??
