Care Home bill

This is in relation to the changes in the care cap which is currently set at £23,000. My mother in law has just entered a care home on a temporary basis last week with a view to become permanent. She is currently self funded. It would probably be approximately a year before she would need financial help. The government are changing the cap to £80,000 in October 2022. Does anyone know which cap she would be subjected to if requiring help next October. TIA

As ever the devil is in the detail or will be.0 -
Yes, it's an interesting figure given that at the moment care homes don't separate out the care element from the "hotel" element so care homes will be needing to do a lot of sums in order to work out how to split the two.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
