Wall rebuild quote

Hi
I have been quote for a complete rebuild of the white wall making it wider so it has a smaller gate opening. the wall is  currently just over 3 foot wide
Cutting the gate down to a "Normal size" as it is 4 foot wide.
Repairing the red wall 
supply skip 
£730 
Excuse the mess as i am replacing the decking so no room for the plants etc.

Hi I had a quote for a builder to replace an existing wall  with a new one @ 1.45 x 2. 10 Mtrs 
Then repair the top of a end pillar that the gate hangs on 
I agreed with the £730 and it has taken two days and the builder is now charging more because it has gone in to two days and extra bricks.
The original quote he said it will only take a day and 3 people.

This has take 2 people to complete and now he wants £1050 i told him i cant afford that so he has said i can pay when i can afford the extra and just to pay £850 now.
I am happy with the job though.
Not sure what to do as i don't have anything in writing
