Hidenda Marriage Allowance Refund...eh?

Hello, I've searched for infomartion on the site about Hidenda and didnt find anything exactly the same as the issue I'm raising in this,  my first post to MSE Forums. So hello and what about....

I'm receiving the following message in text and emails from Hidenda.  The messages refer to me "completing a marriage allowance refund", with them presumably acting on my behalf.

I'd welcome anyone who has experienced this and advice on what or what not to do.

Hi Stephen. Very Important: Sorry to be a pain but your additional marriage allowance refund needs completing. Tap here hidenda.com/1x/xxexxx & do it now in 2 minutes. If you cannot tap link on phone go to your email stxxxx@XXXXX.com & look for 'Hidenda - Marriage Allowance refund requires action'. You may need to check junk folder. Regards Hidenda

If you ever think you have a tax refund owing, contact HMRC directly.

And you can never ever be due a refund by applying for Marriage Allowance.

It is the spouse who doesn't apply that would get any refund due.

But why pay a third party to do something you could easily do yourself?
