    I had a Barclays mortgage offer on the table, but went with Halifax in the end. Barclays took nearly a month to offer, whereas Halifax took 2 days ... Quite the difference in service!

    Quick update: HSBC approved application within 1 working day, subject to valuation. Valuation booked for 3 days later, literally minutes after the valuation I got an offer by email.
