What type of outside drain is this?

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows what type of outside drain this is below.
It has the exit on one side but also seems to have a hole at the bottom (although the water doesn’t seem to drain out of anything at the bottom so this may just be design).
For the meantime i’m looking to get some sort of cover for it as leafs keep making their way in and covering the filter holes when it fills to drain out. Ideally it would be useful if i could get a small extension piece for it once 20mm porcelain is laid on the path.
Cheers!

Probably something like this. Traditional Salt Glaze Drain Square Gully (BD02019) -Harris & Bailey Ltd (harrisandbailey.com)
You can get gulley surrounds and coverss.0 -
It is a gully drain - There is usually a P trap either at the bottom or the side.If you are digging up the area, I can recommend a FloPlast leaf/debris interceptor - Not cheap, but well worth having. Got them on my down pipes, and they make life so much easier in cleaning out and reducing the chance of a blockage.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

The water is not supposed to drain out, it forms water seal to prevent smells coming from the drain. Just get a metal or plastic drain cover to stop debrisA thankyou is payment enough .0

That’s a gully drain, you can easily find standard fitted covers either mesh, plastic or metal lined ones too 😃0
