VW have cancelled my Motability order.
Not sure if anyone can help.
I ordered my new Motability car - a VW Tiguan in July. I have the order confirmation all signed and deposit paid.
However I have just found out the despite me having ordered the vehicle when they were, VW are no longer putting Tiguans on the scheme.
My VW dealer has spoken the Motability who have tried their best to help. Even offering to put it back on just for my order to go through but VW head office have point blank refused to honour the order despite being given proof that the order went through when the Tiguan was on the scheme!
Can they do that?

Yes - is the simple answer.

Are they putting an equivalent on the scheme?

No they have just said that they have pulled multiple cars from the scheme. I still would have thought they would have to honour the orders that have already been placed though!0

They may have pulled models from sale due to supply issues, and there's likely a clause allowing them to do so.
If VW HQ are refusing to budge then it's probably less hassle to just look for an alternative vehicle.

While they may not have the same badge status would it be worth considering a Seat or Skoda as they're near enough the same0

Their production has probably been hit by supply issues of electronic parts. They have probably cut off motability orders to take the pressure off production numbers coming in creating a big back order or Motability have lost the contract to these vehicles being available. They will refund your deposit.
Motability usually update their ranges of available vehicles through dealer negotiations in September.
I would call motability customer care and ask them what their prepared to do to put you in a similar vehicle, they may pay the difference in a similar vehicle deposit.0
