Shared ownership with bad credit

Hello we are trying to get a shared ownership mortgage and I have found that I have two debts on my credit rating that I didn't know I had from 5 years ago
We only want 25% of a house which is £48,500 and we have a 5k deposit
Do we still have a chance ?
We are with the mortgage broker the new builds gave us .. but we have been waiting ages for a reply

What sort of debts? Just missed payments or CCJ's? How much debt?
You're probably better off posting on the mortgages board as that's where most of the brokers hang out.

No they are default payments ? They are from 5 years ago and are for about 100 and something each .. are they bad ?

It might be worth trying an independent broker.  When I was buying a shared ownership property many moons ago, we were told by the broker recommended by the HA that all providers had refused us.  First bank we went to personally accepted us and the purchase went through.

However we didn't have any defaults, just a lack of credit.
