Credot card repayment

Hi im after advice, as  i find myself in a strange situation.
I put money away to clear a credit card debt, over 2k and i rang the company i owed, to pay my bill. I went all the way through the automated service, put my details in and came to thr final part to get my refrence number and the system blipped and put me through to a call agent who couldnt get into my account. This was the 02/09.

The next day  i called the CCard company back, my account was checked and i had a zero balance. However i checked my current account and the money was still sat there, with no pending payments to the Cc company. I rang the CC company back and told to wait a few days and everything should even itself out.

Fast forward to today, 6th septrmber,  the money is still in my current account with no large sums pending and nothing to the CC company, i rang back the CC company was catagorically told i owed zero, and they gave me a payment reference as to the payment being taken.

And so im left with a large sum of money i know i owe but the people i owe it to have said theyve been paid and my bank is adamant theres no pending.

What should i do? Ive rang both companies a fair few times and they both kerp saying the same thing. ..i owe nothing, nowt pending.

Just keep it to one side so you have the money when the discrepancy is noticed.
