Hello,
Around January this year had bathroom done, all taken out new come in the person was doing had great review on My builder website after 6 months loads of issues I had to send me a letter requesting to repair the bad workmanship and pay for the water damaged.

Before all of that just after he finished the bathroom all was good I paid him the money(bank transfer) and mentioned that I was going to IKEA to buy a new kitchen to renovate the kitchen  he said ' here is my trade card for B&Q used and will have like 10% discount and I will also have discount benefits both of us'
Took as good will call forgot about ,while dealing with bathroom issues had my kitchen fitted by someone else .

Send him a second letter requesting repair of tiles on floor and damaged kitchen and he answered this

Thank you for the letter I’m just in the process off writing one myself after I now have received cctv and proof off you using my trade card for your savings total saved cost: £1867.56

I did not got any quote from him to do the kitchen did no verbally agreed on anything other that stated  above.

Believe he try to scare me and see if I back off my claim against him.

Any opinion on the matter will be welcome

I imagine it's against the T&Cs of the B&Q trade card to lend to someone else to use, but that will be for B&Q to take issue with.
Is he wanting you to give him the money for the savings you made?

Yes , he want me to give him the money I saved on the transaction. I bought the kitchen when was on sale of 30% plus his 10% trade account.

On legal way doubt he as any grounds to take me to court but just wondering

No, he has suffered no loss.  You saved the money, it didn't cost him £1867.56.
  • Thatwas thinking he suffers no loss cost him nothing and had no legal agreement in anyway or format . Feel like he is almost trying to extort money from me . If he try again I will make a complain against him for scamming and possibly extortion
  • Whilst the trader is probably in breach of his account terms and conditions, is OP at risk of any action for posing as the trader when using the card?

No, that's no better than him and his bogus request for moiney

He's not scamming or extorting you.

When I bought the kitchen they were aware of it at B&Q . And I have emails of him mentioned the discounts so .what OP stands for?

    Original Poster, i.e. you.

Seems you're in the clear, then.

He's an idiot and a liar.

The B&Q Tradepoint card gives you a discount if you spend over a certain amount each month. Your spending will have assisted him in keeping his 10% discount. That's presumably why he gave it to you in the first place.

And there's not a chance that B&Q will have just handed over footage of someone else using his card.

    What discount do he get?

Is a person able to get CCTV footage of someone else?
