Being made redundant and notice period difference

Hi I'm very likely to be made redundant on 24th of this month due to job cuts in the company
Rather than make us work the notice period they are doing payment in lieu of notice which is fine
My main question is they have said it will be 12 weeks payment but my Contract stated 3 months and is about a weeks more salary ,so wondered what the rules are about this

Then your contractual terms will trump the statutory ones. Suspect majority of those affected are not on 3 months notice. The notification sent out is generic.2
