hi my step dad has passed away he was not married to my mum and made no will, they had been together for 17yrs they both shared the 2 cars that was bought with both of their money, my only concern now is both cars are in my stepdads name and he has 2 children from another relationship ? what will happen to the cars as they are in his name on the logbooks thanks gareth

Presumably, his Estate will go to his children, including the two cars as they are in his name. However, his children might be happy for your mum to keep one of them and sign it over to her.0

The name on the logbook is the name of the registered keeper not the owner. The difficulty comes if their is no documentary evidence for this.Unfortunately your SF was exceedingly foolish in not making a will.0
