Storage Rental Costs

I wasn't quite sure where to post this so please move it if it's in the wrong place mods.
I know there are strict laws regarding rental increases for tenancies but I couldn't find anything related to storage. Is there something perhaps related to contract law on this as regards how much notice you must be given for price increases?
My storage company who I have been with for over 5 years has recently asked for an increase of nearly 50%. I pay one year in advance (if that makes a difference).

There is nothing other than what is in your contract. Shop around with other providers and find the going rate. Then negotiate or move.
You have to ask yourself why you need storage for that length of time. Is the stuff in there really worth retaining long term at that cost?1
