Replacing bay windows

I have started looking quotations for replacing my bay windows because my actual wood one is rotten in several parts (inside particularly) and can't be easily saved. I've never replaced a window in my life so I was not prepared to both monies and even the existence of several brands.
What happened is that I got a quotation of £2500 from a local installer which supplies Spectus windows and another of around £6500 from Anglian Home Improvements. Another local installer, which supplies Platinum NRG, already quoted preliminary £5500. Beyond the very high price, I am wondering if the £2500 is too low, so it's suspicious or the other ones are two high.

I understand Anglian is a big national company does (almost) everything, but frankly I was positively impressed by the salesman who explained how complicated is replacing the bay and not anyway tried to sell anything more. Also, Anglian would replace up to the bay root, instead the cheap quote would not (details are not clear, but they said cleary, the top wood fascia will remain in place).
For reference, I asked for full replacement, fitting included, with other sliding sashed in uPVC. The size is 1300mm for 1980mm height (central window) and the two sides are 550mm wide. I am based in the South Eash, between East and West Sussex.

is that window weight supporting? i dont think it is looking at it. but there will be a lintel or rsj in there somewhere to take the weight above. it needs to be done righjt, so get your local builder round to have a look.

I would have expected something in the region of £1200-1500 for that window. There is nothing complicated about it bar two load bearing posts at the corners.
£6.5K from AW is quite frankly, taking the mick.

£1200 more or less for the whole bay? I mean, 3 windows plus all carpentry?

I have no idea personally. But it's an interesting area where Anglian said they will do a lot of carpentry after removing the windows to close the weight casing nearby the house and create concrete or steel support for the inside of baypoles. So, I assume they considered the roof is being supported by the window. Moreover, Anglian would rebuild sill, architrave and frame. Somebody new is coming this morning. I will let you know.
  • The result of the 4th quotation was:
Option 1: change the windows, not touching anything else, not even the vertical poles, basically remove windows and plug new upvc windows into the original sash frame. Cost £2500
Option 2: rebuild the entire frame with uPVC, using bearing poles so the root has something can help to sustain, and not touching anything else like sills, architrave, etc. Cost £4600
