DF Capital Fix Rate Bonds

I have a 12 month fix rate bond about to mature shortly and I am considering reinvesting the funds in another 1 year fix.
DF Capital is currently the best (non app) 12 month rate on MSE top savings accounts (1.45%), although strangely it's not listed on Moneyfacts best rates.
DF Capital is a new name to me so I was wondering if anyone has any experience in dealing with them?
Also, can you initially deposit a £1 test payment before sending over a larger amount?

I don't yet have any experience of them, but it is an option I'm currently mulling over. I noted they have a 14 day funding window and minimum deposit of £1000, so worst case you'd have to send £1000 as an initial amount. A £1 test payment that bounces back and prompts them to inform you of the reason would serve its purpose. Not surprisingly they don't support Confirmation of Payee.
