Odd homebuyers report?

Similar happened to me!! I had a survey done on the house I am buying....the surveyor kindly phoned me and gave me the run down before I received the report. This are actual comments he made....
"Kitchen certainly needs an update" - erm I actually loved the kitchen, but ok thanks for your opinion
"I mean me personally, can't stand decking. I would look at getting that replaced".....okayyy 👀
"Needs a repaint, plus walls very bland"....I asked him to elaborate on this as I was confused and he said, and I quote..."just alot of grey and white"
And to top it off...."I'm not so keen on the bathroom....definitely needs more modern tiles"
Honestly, I felt like I'd completely wasted my money 🤷♀️ i didn't ask laurence llewelyn-bowen to go in and start giving me his designer input. only positive thing I got out of it was he was able to rule out damp and that the roof was OK!4 -

Quite unprofessional to comment on decor etc0 -
There's a lot of weirdness in surveyor's reports sometimes.
Less egregious than the examples above, but the report for my current house identified a serious damp problem on two particular walls plus suspected woodworm in the floorboards.
The floorboards are at least 60 years old, so probably did have woodworm at some point, but no evidence of anything recent.
The damp, I still have no idea what he was referring to, no visible evidence or via a damp meter on either wall. Same is true five years later.0 -
Mine had strange bits in it commenting in the slate floor in the kitchen and one about the smell in the downstairs bathroom ... the water has been turned off since dec .. I'm sure something is going to smell.0

I’m beginning to think they are a waste of time.It didn’t find anything out nobody didn’t know from looking at planning portals and flood sites.Mine said wales damp (washing machine exits there)
and top edge of fence panels are missing700 later0 -
I'm more concerned the surveyor gave you (the seller) a copy of the report. It's confidential to the buyer only and should never have been given to you, even if they're being "helpful"!0
