Tariff/meter change from E10

Hi
I’ll soon be having multi split aircon fitted for main living area heating/cooling. The current electric warm system is on an E10 tariff with Eon.
I’ll need to move onto single rate for the aircon and this too will be better for bedroom electric radiators.
The aircon company will just connect to the CU and Eon, a while ago mentioned that they could quote for a swap to single rate.

It may involve a meter and timer change. The dual rate meter is fairly modern but the timer is 70’s electro mechanical.
I doubt I’ll stick with Eon anyway as I need a competitive rate.
Just wondering if a new company would be able to handle the move from E10 to single rate.
Any help appreciated.

    Thanks.
EON said a while ago that they could quote for a single rate meter change. From the info it looks like any change to my E10 meter and timer arrangement should be free.

As I’ve now fitted aircon for main area heating, I’ve no use for the warm air storage heater, E10 or electro mechanical timer.
Hot water is immersion that I switch on during off peak hours.
I’m currently using the aircon on E10 which, from lack of resetting, switches from low rate to normal rate at around 5.00pm.
From tomorrow, EON E10 unit rate will be:

    Low 16.286p
    Normal 25.124p
    Standing charge 28.669p

I’d be better off on the cheapest available single rate, which I doubt will be with EON.
Probably best to contact them regarding changing from E10 to single rate which is around 18p a unit.

I've not read any of the above links, but surely some mistake.

Non essential meter changes are generally chargeable (unless 1st installation of a smart meter)

As an E10 metered consumer, Eon should supply you on a single rate if that is what you request. (w/o a meter change)

As for costs, Eon don't seem to offer any tariffs at present, but refer you to Eon Next.
Only Eon Next tariff I got quoted was:

    Next 2 yr v7
    23.4p / kWh  & 47.19ppd

Not sure if you can get the Eon default tariff (probably not as E10 tariffs are usually evergreen), but if you can, I think eon default tariff from tomorrow will be about
    19.6p/kWh & 23.9ppd

    - based on W Midlands supply region. (prices do vary by region)

Having been recently moved from igloo to eonnext I found eonnext are no more customer friendly than eon were. I was charged for two meters (standing charge) despite the fact that at least five suppliers had paid heavily for this, eon is not one of them(yet).

I sent at least four emails which were unanswered or ignored the complaint, this response(or lack of) was, I knew typical of eon. Only when I instigated a 'resolver' complaint did I get an instant reply(no apology) stating that the last months charge had been rebated. I then had to remind them of the previous three months owed which they arranged. When I knew this had been paid, I reluctantly closed the 'resolver' case.

I say reluctant because I doubt very much that I was the only customer paying this charge, there may be hundreds or thousands paying the excess charge and unless Ofgem intervene, will continue to pay it.
