Solar PV Quotes Northants

  • Got another quote, not had any responses from companies I've contacted.

    £11995 for 22 JA Solar 320w panels 7.04kWp (1.703£/W)

Quote came through very quickly. I can see why though:

Company 1 produced the following so definitely seem to be leading the pack. I think I will ask them about other solar panel brands they might offer.

Nice bit of re modeling , if they are going to do a crap quote they could at least have the decency to make it cheap.

Will be interesting to see how the panel changes the quote it will depend on how much wiggle room you have. The JA 385w panel for example is 100m longer than the Sunpower. If it has to be below 1700mm then the JA 345w is probably you most powerful

  • Just had another quote, bit of an oddball one:

    £2887.50 5x JA Solar 320W Panels Solis 1.5W inverter no optimizers etc 1.6kWp (1.804£/W)

    £9995 18x JA Solar 385W Panels, Lux Hybrid Inverter 16A  no optimizers + 4.8kW UHome Battery Storage - 6.93kWp (1.44£/W)  - (£1.11£/W without battery or £1.34/W with SE optimizers)

Price is better, and added a battery (£2,285.71) despite not requesting one. The 'usage' at 80%, and estimated return on investment at £37,838 over 25 years seems a bit optimistic. Also quote seems to assume only one roof

    That's a good-sized array and a useful battery.
During the summer months you might want to tell your inverter to prioritise export and only charge the battery when there's surplus solar, rather than the reverse, otherwise you'll get to mid-morning with a full battery and lose half of the midday hump.
If that's all gobbledegook, say so and I'll sketch some diagrams to illustrate.

That looks suspiciously like a contact solar quote.
4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.

Yep, their sales statements are interesting...
  • Is that the Lux 3.68kw inverter a bit undersized but as your panels are split over 3 roofs it might be ok. The payback calculations vary quite depending on Pkwh used for mains and how it'll go up every year. You are better off doing your own.

  • also I doubt that optimisers are solaredge probably tigo , not saying that’s a bad or good thing though  .
