Just received the new HSBC card, I kinda like it better than the old lion card.0

Love the lion design myself, made it stand out a little although the finish on this looks nice.2

Looks cheap compared to the old lions, glad my lions have a few years to go yet. Incidentally I noticed if you add an HSBC card on the Curve app it still uses the old orange design advanced card!0

looks horrid.0

Looks a bit..... cheap. I wonder how much they paid a marketing and design consultancy to come up with that....0

I assume you have blanked out all the account details or are those on the back. If not, how on earth do you use it when you have to type the numbers in on a website or over the phone?
Can't say I like it.

Account details are all printed on the back. How else would they find space for the logo?
first direct is same general design but card is just black and there’s no big logo.1 -
There is no reason by cards these days could simply be a key fob which fits on a key ring, or even cardboard.
In the end, the card they send you will almost be paper. Most people will just add the card to their phone. It is possible for a full contactless card to be almost as thin as paper and be very strong. Especially if it is hardly used. Hardly any plastic required. You heard it here first!0 -
Interesting to see that HSBC have decided to stick with Visa for their debit card whilst their sibling First Direct recently moved over to MasterCard.0

I still think they will go to MasterCard. With a big bank like HSBC the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing. i.e the people that design the cards are not in the loop that the cards are going to change to MasterCard.JenB79 said:Interesting to see that HSBC have decided to stick with Visa for their debit card whilst their sibling First Direct recently moved over to MasterCard.1
