I have been with Saga for a few years and their renewal quote is £440
A comparison site came up with LVE at £170 cheaper
Before I switch could anyone with experience tell me if they are reliable enough or bad in any way
Thanks

Do you mean LV?
Have you compared everything to ensure the cover, excess etc is the same?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
LV (or LV=) is now a subsidiary of Allianz for their general insurance so changes are probably afoot (though in which direction is always a question mark.
Both a large mainstream insurers for direct purchases... if buying through an intermediary then it can be different depending on the level of the intermediaries involvement post sale.0 -
I've just renewed my motor insurance with LV=. If you read the policy details it is better than Saga and for me, it was around £30 cheaper. Which? currently rate LV= as the number one motor insurer, with NFU in second place and Saga in third place. A lot depends on your personal circumstances and what cover you require.0

Thanks for the info
Well with LV= charging me £170 less than Saga I guess they'd be the obvious choice
Im adding personal accident cover too and Im still paying £150 less than Saga
I hate to imagine how things will be next year when insurance companies won't be able to give better rates to new policies.
I guess that'll be the end of comparison sitesIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
Not at all, insurers will not be able to differentiate between new and existing customers financially (still not sure how Quidco style cash back will be considered) but there will still be tension between insurers to win new business off each other, change in strategies, new entrants etc all which may mean this years cheapest insurer won't be next years.vinylmusic said:I guess that'll be the end of comparison sites
Have you read what the PA provides? Basic PA used to be a standard part of comp cover but the claim rate was so low that when I started my first ever claims job and asked the trainer (who'd been with the company for over a decade) how to process them she said she had no idea... never came back to me on it either.0
