Hi I've just set up a dd for the lottery on my donor account to switch to Nationwide.. Any winnings get paid into the account that paid the Direct Debit.
What happens if there are any winnings during the switching period?
The play is for Tuesdays and the switch is due to complete on a Friday

Everything will be taken/paid into the original account until the account switch is deemed complete. At that point all payments sent to/taken from the old account will be redirected to the new account.sparkiemalarkie said:Hi I've just set up a dd for the lottery on my donor account to switch to Nationwide.. Ah, thank you.
So as I understand it, the lottery will send winnings to the old account and the old account will redirect it to my new Nationwide account.
Month 2 the DD will be taken from my Nationwide account and that should become my main bank account for Lottery purposes and any winnings sent directly there.

Essentially yes, your new bank will (I think) also inform the institutions collecting DD's to update their information to the new account details although it wouldn't do any harm for you do do so yourself once it's up and running.sparkiemalarkie said:Ah, thank you.

I've also used the National Lottery as one of my DDs on my donor account, and am getting slightly worried. They took £10 from my donor account on 2nd September, and I can see absolutelty no trace of this hitting my National Lottery account. Balance is still zero, there's nothing in my Transaction History, no tickets under My Games. It's been three full working days now, so I would expect to see something. If there is still no trace showing tomorrow, I'll be contacting them to query it.Just worrying it's going to be complicated if I have to dispute the DD on the old account after the switch has completed.0

Finally showing up in my Transaction History, dated today (8th September) but account balance still zero and no tickets. But I'm much happier to see it acknowledged.Fingerbobs said:I've also used the National Lottery as one of my DDs on my donor account, and am getting slightly worried. They took £10 from my donor account on 2nd September, and I can see absolutelty no trace of this hitting my National Lottery account. DD payments do not show in your balance. That is for just debit card top ups.Fingerbobs said:

Cant remember if tickets show or not.It says you will see the tickets purchased by the Direct Debit under My Games.I was just surprised it took almost a week between the money being deducted from my bank account and any kind of acknowledgement that it had happened on the National Lottery account. The delay seems excessive, and I couldn't find any information on how long this delay is expected to be, hence my concern.

Well I won £10 on the thunderball, played by DD, and my account is switching in 2 days.
Winnings going back into my account will take 3 to 5 working days....so it will be interesting to see when the £10 makes it into my New Nationwide account.....

Set one up last week. (ready to use acc for switch)
Play slip 1 of 1 (New) - First draw Wed 29 Sep 2021
Also gives you > Your next 12 months payment schedule
Never check for tickets showing as bought. So never noticed the delay. But get your concern.

👍It wasn't just the tickets being bought - there was absolutely no trace of anything happening at all on my Lottery account for nearly a week after the DD was pulled from my bank account. 6 days later it finally showed up in my transaction list. With a delay this long, I would expect something in the FAQ to say that it takes this time before the transaction appears on the transaction list.(It appears that each ticket is only "bought" a couple of days before each draw anyway - that's not the issue.)
