Does anyone know if I will be affected by this? I got a iPhone 6s and I always use WhatsApp a lot.

Whatsapp is dropping support for iOS 9 which the iPhone 6s came with originally but it can still run iOS 14.7 so as long as you have updated your iOS in the last 6 years then it will continue working fine.
