Switching after 12 months - have they really gone up that much?

Got my e-mail from supplier, and from cheap energy club - deal ending.  Fine, time to switch.  But cheap energy club tells me my prices will be going up by 350 minimum a year - and that's with the cheapest non reviewed supplier.  It'll probably be even more.  I know they've gone up a lot recently, but seriously - THAT much???

Yes, by that much. You must have been living in a bubble as price rises have been widely reported in the Press. On this very day a year ago, the wholesale price of gas was 0.934p/kWh. Today’s wholesale price is 4.481p/kWh. With a lack of solar and wind, over 45% of our electricity is coming from gas-powered generating stations. Not surprisingly, the wholesale price of electricity today is 16.317p/kWh. The wholesale price accounts for about 40% of the price that we pay.
