British Gas smart meter

Hi all, I have joined BG earlier this year and have had a smart meter fitted in June. It only worked for couple of weeks. I have been contacting them regularly since to be told there’s a software fault that they are aware of and working to solve it. It is taking an seagull long time. I am wondering if there are any other customers experiencing this issue.

Make sure you read the meter monthly while they fix the issue.

Which meter manufacturer and model? There are numerous makes of smart meters in the system. Sadly, suppliers have no levers to pull. The DCC is responsible for the network and comms hubs, and individual meter manufacturers develop and test their own meter firmware. It has just taken one manufacturer 6 months to deploy a meter firmware fix.
