    As has been mentioned above, you can't refuse BENEFITS, but there are ways - like asking for a guarantor or affordability. Unfortunately, most people on benefits don't meet those requirements.

    Its probably now harder to get rented accommodation if you are benefits due to these stupid laws.  Social housing should be the responsibility of the government. 

    The bar on some of these affordability checks are set high. Would not be surprised if the government try to intervene in the next few years. 

    You will see the low income and people on benefits bleating about the lack of properties available and mystified as to why there is none....self inflicted
