Ryanair flight change

I am thinking of travelling to Spain in October but I'm hesitant in case the conditions change before I go and I am unable to travel, as I would be down over 200 pounds.

As I can only fly with Ryanair I have been reading this page: https://www.ryanair.com/ie/en/useful-info/no-change-fee

This would be very handy, although I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a limit on the date of the new flight? I would probably want to move it to the following spring.

Also, is the process simple or do you have to wait on the phone for hours?

That page says that the new flights need to be in 2021, and not 2022....

Just reread it, I can see that now...not much help as if further restrictions are imposed they're unlikely to be lifted in the winter.
