Hi guys,

I have a Karcher K3 pressure washer that I want to leave in the garden and take just the gun down to the front of the house for car wash. It is approximately 20m from garden to the front of the property so I believe I need 25m to 30m so i can move around easily.

I cannot find any 30m hose that fits my pressure washer anywhere,  only 10m/15m long ones - example https://www.amazon.co.uk/High-Pressure-Hose-60-%C2%B0C-Quick-Connect-Double-Sided/dp/B06Y2BCLZR/ref=asc_df_B06Y2BCLZR/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=218092154549&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11272292520044478201&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006886&hvtargid=pla-422096746290&psc=1

Is it OK to join two of the above hose to make it 30m? Will the pressure washer still work as intended? If yes, how do you connect the two 15m hoses?

Thanks

You can easily get decent rubber hoses for most pressure washers at various sizes, although I would argue that a 30m hose is pushing it especially for your model of PW.

  • Directhoses.net get a lot of votes on car detailing forums. Just remember the longer the hose the less pressure at the gun. 30m hose will be about £70.

Unless the design of the extension hose has been improved, they are absolute devils to use as they keep trying to coil back up.  It's like stretching a spring and then letting it go.  I even went to the extent of straightening one out in the garden on a hot day in the hope of taking the 'spring' out of it - it didn't work.
  • Tellit totally agree they are waste of money replacement longer hose far better
  • With a delivery pressure of around 150psi, there shouldn't be any significant loss over that distance.
I bet someone does a female/female connector for these quick-detach couplings too, so you'd then have the option of one or two 15m lengths, but can't say I've managed to find one.

They also get loads of criticism too for having very poor customer service when things go wrong.

That's exactly why you ditch the OEM hoses for professional, reinforced rubber hoses as mentioned above.
