Faulty hot tub

In June I bought a Lazy spa hot tub from B&Q. The hot tub is now faulty & keeps deflating, it is an internal seal which is leaking & not simply a puncture. I went back to B&Q with a view to replacing the faulty hot tub. However they refused to do anything & said I had to go through Bestway (makers of the Lazy spa) & claim under the warranty. Is that correct or is my contract with B&Q?

Your contract is with B&Q but it's often far easier to deal with the manufacturer under warranty as typically all forcing the retailer to deal with it will do is add an additional step for it to go wrong (you send it to the retailer, the retailer sends it to the manufacturer.)1

While B&Q will sort a repair for you if you push hard enough (or a replacement, but all you're entitled to is a repair to start with) it'll probably be easier to go to the manufacturer.0
