Floor Hatch and LVT

I'm fitting Camaro lvt on 6mm ply on a timber floor
There is an access hatch into the area under the floor approx 600 X 600 mm

What is the best way to treat the hatch so it looks good and the lvt is secure

Floor guy says he could just cut round it leave a 3mm gap and fit pvc dim strip

Or I could fix mitred aluminium 50 mm trim screwed in place

Has anyone used an actual access hatch product suitable for 20 mm softwood flooring

Sort of wedged strip? Are you going to leave the hatch not covered with LVT then?!

I would fit ply and lvt to the hatch too
So I'm assuming small dim strip to hatch and adjacent floor

I don't understand. If both are the same level, why diminishing strip?
IMO, it does make sense to make some sort of 'frame' around the hatch (and, possibly, around the LVT on the hatch too), but it has to be flush with the tiles, not diminishing.

ETA: something similar to these trims used for ceramic tiles:

Square Edge Tile Trim 12 Inch in Brushed Stainless Steel
    Specialist Trims ARTAFEX
    Stainless Steel L Angle 6mm x 3m Grade 304 - Tile Stone Paver

I think that kind of trim could work
The ply and lvt could fit into the recess
I could fit this to the hatch and the surrounding floor
  • We put our hatch in front of the back door and left it slightly recessed to take a coir door mat - it has an aluminium surround. You wouldn't know there was a hatch there unless you lifted the mat!
