Suggestions on where to visit please?

So I'm looking to take a short break (3 days) around October to unwind and looking for suggestions on where to go.
Requirements:
- Maximum 3 hours car journey from south Leicestershire. Ideally shorter.
- Sight seeing/short walks (but not too rural as I don't have all the 'kit') during the day.
- Cafes/Restaurants/Bars/Pubs to eat out.
Two random suggestions I thought of were Hay-on-Wye and Malverns. Are they good options? Any other ideas?

Wye Valley around Ross on Wye/Symonds Yat are spectacular in Autumn.
Forest of Dean and the Cotswolds also worth a look.
Derbyshire Dales aren't too far.
Boat trips, museums, open top bus rides, bike hire, river walks, parks, independent shops, loads of places to eat out ....
Which reminds me to book a visit- thank you OP 😊
