Mesh Wifi?

These are very good. Got a mixture of them wired and wireless around the house.

That particular system is limited to 100 megabits per second shared internet because of the speed of the network port on the base unit, unless you are using several bases. If you were to buy one MW6 and use that as the base they could all share up to a gigabit per second. This assumes that your internet connection itself can go faster and that the network ports between the internet router and the MW6 are gigabit. If the internet connection isn't faster this is irrelevant.
But wired to an access point in the single room with problem will still be faster. This is because using the Tenda mesh network involves transmitting everything at least twice unless the final device has a direct wifi connection to the base. That's because everything from the internet goes by wifi to the Tenda the final connection is to and again from there to the user device. If there are two Tendas to get the the end on then there will be three transmissions. And two or three sets of latency. You can reduce this where appropriate by using a wired connection from the final Tenda to the device, that way it'll go wifi to get to that Tenda but wired from it so you might end up with just one wifi transmission.
Don't do it where it's silly but in general you can speed up this Tenda system using wired connections from the final Tendas to the end devices when those devices don't need to move.2 -

I've got VM 100Mb, so perfect for me. However the Tenda connected to my VM hub is the Tenda Nova MW6. The rest are a mixture of MW5 & MW3's. Seven in total around the house, workshop and garage, with 4 of them using ethernet backhaul. I currently use mine in bridge mode, so still have full access to all the settings on the VM hub. Been running them a while now and got no complaints.

Nicely done - seems like a good and well informed use of them!0

Yes the OP is probably suffering because he is only getting 100mbps. If only he had gigabit ports it would all be sorted.0

I hope people realise that last comment of mine was a joke. I suppose some people could think I was being serious!0

If there is a cable to the particular mesh box that a connection is being made to, that cable can be used for the backhaul - the connection to the internet or router. But that's a scenario where an access point is likely to be suitable and mesh not necessary. Where mesh comes into its own is when there is no wire except to the base box and everything else happens over the air. No reason why a mesh setup can't have many boxes without wires and many with if a place is big enough, though.0
