  • SD card maybe?

If the Samsung tablet has an SD card slot and your PC as one as well I'd say that would be quite easy to transfer as a one off.

Do you need to sync the Samsung Tablet and PC regularly? If so some other solutions might be better.

if it is 1 or 2 files files, send yourself an email with excel attached from PC
open your email on tablet and download.

Or connect your tablet and PC with usb cable and transfer across.

Depends on how much and how often you want to transfer. Personally would use some form of cloud storage if there is any level of frequency so both devices have the latest version at all times. I happen to use Dropbox but there are hundreds of options out there with Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive probably the most obvious options given your choice of systems.

Google drive will mirror the files on the PC to the internet storage there and can also make the files available on the tablet. On the PC include the files or their directory into the list of locations to mirror.

Neatest overall for editing in both places is to open in Google Sheets because that way you can edit anywhere that Sheets runs including on the web in a browser with no requirements for a local copy. Edit and save as Sheets on your local PC and double-clicking will end up opening Sheets for editing and it'll update to the latest web version if it hasn't already been updated to that. Sheets saves around every second to the net when editing.

Or Dropbox ... or MS Onedrive
  • Connect your tablet to your PC using the USB charging cable, when you get the message on your PC "Select what happens with this device", click on it and select "Open device to view files". Depending on the Android version on your tablet you might get a message saying "Use USB to", select "Transfer files / Android Auto".

The tablet then appears on your PC like a flash drive and you can copy files to and from the tablet using File Explorer.

Of course, but as he's going to Android it's probably quicker just to upload using Drive via their Google account using a browser.
