Purchase of an unregistered recently built property

We are looking at purchasing a relatively recently built property (sellers purchased 1.5 years ago). Our solicitor has identified that first registration of this property has not yet taken place, despite being submitted at the time of purchase to the land registry of Scotland. We are due to move in this week and so the normal process of expediting this request is not quick enough. Our solicitors are suggesting they can ask the sellers solicitors for the original submission to the LRoS and the deeds and scrutinise these to ensure there are no errors or omissions. This, along with an undertaking from the solicitor to see the title registration through, is how they intend to carry out their title checks and get assurance of title transfer after the purchase has completed.

Has anyone had any similar experiences or can shine a light on whether there is cause for concern in our case? Our solicitor has also said that the mortgage company (Santander) does not need to be informed on this which I'm not sure is right?

Thanks
