Partial refund?

Through my step fathers ill health I’ve have had to cancel my cottage holiday with Unique Scottish Cottages. I read the cancellation policy wrong and because he is over 75 (he isn’t travelling with me and he had his condition when I booked the holiday). They did inform me that I maybe could get a partial refund if they managed to relet the property… they have not changed the booking status of the cottage on their website even though I cancelled 5 days ago and was supposed to go this Friday. My question is, if they haven’t even tried to relet is there anyway I can complain?

does the contract state that on cancellation their will re-advertise or is this them trying to do you a favour? Have you tried to advertise it yourself...via social network?1

Well, you can complain but they probably are not in breach of the contract.
It's also possible that they needed to do things such as refer back to the owner so it's not that they aren't trying, but that changes don't happen instantly. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
