Pay date change panic

If you've already paid them, you can only mitigate the damage now.
- Cancel non-mandatory Direct Debits and re-setup later in the month for early next month
- Lower other direct debits to a minimum e.g. the mortgage provider might accept a capital or interest only repayment.
- Pay by bills credit card (rather than D/D) and use the 56 days interest free period to your advantage

Ring your bank, explain the situation, and see if they'll grant a temporary overdraft facility while you to get grips with the situation.
Personally I've always arranged fixed outgoings to be paid from the 1st of the month onwards to cater for differing paydates over the years.0 -

with your suggestion
August payment 28/8
October payment 2/10
When does September payment get paid?
Make a manual payment. Or ask if funds really are tight that can they spread the payment out over the last 3 of this year.
Other option leave things as they are and build up a buffer, so in effect all the DD's come out at the end of the pay period. \\\but that may not be as easy to do as say 👍Life in the slow lane0
