MC067 Suspicious buyer for item

"MC067 Suspicious buyer for item
Hello xxxxxxxx,
We had to cancel bids for the buyer, xxxxxxxxx, because they aren't registered on eBay:
384347xxxxxx - Sanyo xxxxxxxxxxx Battery Pack Untested
We've also made it easy to relist your item if it was removed. Although the item is no longer available in search listings, you will find it in the Sold section of My eBay. For more information, please visit:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/relist.html
To help you avoid this situation in the future, consider setting a Buy It Now price and requiring buyers to make an immediate payment. For more information on immediate payments, visit:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/pay/require-immediate-payment.html
We recommend you take the following actions if this buyer won the item:
- If you haven't received payment, don't complete the sale or send the item to the buyer.
- Don't communicate with the buyer directly.
- Verify any payments you've been notified of.
- If the buyer requests a refund or additional payments, don't send any money without contacting eBay first.
- If you've already sent the item, try contacting the shipping carrier to find out if you can stop shipment.
In these types of situations, we may, at our sole discretion, decide whether to credit the fees for removed listings.
- All fees paid or payable for listings that are ended and/or hidden from search will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account.
If you have any concerns or questions, click "Help & Contact" at the top of most eBay pages.
We're sorry for this inconvenience, and thanks for continuing to work with us.
Regards,
eBay Customer Service"
But today whilst looking in the account I notice the payment has actually gone through and it says dispatch now
So I've been paid for it, but the user has been removed from ebay so I can't contact them, and Ebay are also quite hard to contact so thought I'd try here first

I would do exactly as ebay say and try to contact them.Don't send the item off, if you haven't received the funds yet they can easily be returned by ebay (if they are legitimate).Should you get any negative marks against your account, as ebay have told you to take certain actions you should be able to get them removed.May you find your sister soon Helli.

just called them. they have no idea whats going on but are apparently going to look into it and get back to me0

That's all you can do. Keep the message from ebay as that is your protection from any issues you might face. I assume it came through ebay message service and not just by email?
May you find your sister soon Helli.

eBay message service originally. but todays conversation was just verbal on the phone and the guy sounded incredibly confused by it all, it does seem like a strange case0

today the buyer has started a dispute. It says a "dispute out of ebay" so I guess they still have their account locked
still no way to actually contact the buyer. seems by accepting the case I'm admitting a mistake....
guess this means another phone call to ebay0 -
Sadly yes, I would contact ebay about this.Good luck!Hopefully this won't become too painful to resolve.May you find your sister soon Helli.

just spoke to an Irish guy, explained everything, told me what I'd been told previously was wrong, problem is now sorted.
I think in future if I have to speak to eBay CS and I get an American-Asian sounding person on the other end of the phone I'll just hang up and try again until I can get through to someone at the Irish call centre!2
