Hi I am moving into a new 2 bed apartment. I live alone. I am only in the apartment after 7pm week days and weekends, 2 showers per day very low usage. Having never paid them before what would my gas, electricity, water bills be like per month? Some people say £50 all in others say £150 all in per month? Thank you

Without knowing more details it’s very difficult to guess. How is the place heated, how is the water heated, is there gas for both, how old is the property, what’s the EPC rating, are the showers electric, is the water metered etc
When you take over the property you are responsible for the bills you mentioned and you will need to open accounts with the existing suppliers (do you know who they are?) once you’ve done this and supplied meter readings you are free to switch to supplier(s) of your choice, until you do you will be on an expensive ‘standard variable tariff’ so it will be in your interest to find and switch to a cheaper tariff. You’re stuck with your water supplier.

Flesh out the details and we can perhaps give a rough guesstimate of typical usage. Personally I’d work on the higher figure and get it down from there.

Definitely no to £50 - agree with Tim work towards £150

Depending on the answer to the heating question perhaps 3,000 kWh for Elec, 12,000 for Gas = perhaps £1,000 pa.

Don't forget Council Tax.. Insurance, Broadband

If you'vre got gas CH and HW, but electric everything else, and a fairly moderate lifestyle, I would hope you'd end up paying no more than £60 pm. For comparison we're four in a 3-bed semi and I'm hoping we'll be paying less tham £70pm on the tariffs we're about to switch to.
If your flat is all-electric (so no gas) it could be closer to £100 pm. More than that if your "two showers per day" are long ones!
    Edit to add:
    • 2000kWh/yr of electricity and 6000kWh/yr of gas would cost around £720/yr, £60/month.
    • 8000kWh/yr of E7 electricity (50/50) would be £1200/yr, £100/month.
    • 8000kWh/yr of single-rate electricity would be £1300/yr, £110/month.

Bad idea to have an electric shower using daytime electricity.  Even worse if it's an all electric property.  Worst of all if you've bought it.
Sorry to be blunt, but those are the facts !
