Has anyone had their bath re enameled?
Not talking the spray that you get from b&q, But a proper company come out to do it ? I've been quoted about £350
The upstairs bathroom has an old cast bath, that I know are a pig to get out as the room was built around them, Now I know I wont be able to afford a whole new bathroom for a few years and I am happy to wait, But in the meantime I was going to get the bath re enameled.
Its a good solid deep bath with one chip but the surface enamel has broken down over the years, Needs new taps but it's a nice deep bath also which I love when I can get in them
If I can give it a new lease of life im more than happy to go this rather than get a rubbish plastic bath that only comes up to your waist !!

Deep baths can get awkward to extract yourself from as you get older. Think of the future. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
Ive 2 complete bathrooms in the house, a wet room downstairs and a bathroom upstairs.
I did think of changing the one upstairs but ive 2 girls that lounge in the bath as well .0 -
Our old neighbours had it done to their turquoise bath a goodly number of years ago. Came up nice and shiny, they were very happy with it. Don't know who did it though. Don't think there were ever any issues with it afterwards, I'm sure they'd have told me!It's possible to have a steel bath, Kaldewei do some nice ones, we'll buy one of theirs when we redo our bathroom.Make £2025 in 2025

Had one re-enamelled many years ago in a previous house. Quite expensive and not as smooth as a brand new bath, but very well done and lasted a long time, still going strong when I sold the house. From memory (45 years ago) it was a firm called RenuBath or something similar. Took the better part of a day then a further day before we could use it.1

I know its not going to be perfect but, If I can put off the upstairs bathroom for a year or so I can concentrate on the rest of the house then its a win win.0 -
We had a pink bath redone in white about 20 years ago, it was fine. Sorry, can't remember what it cost.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1
