Green.Energy - 35% price increase on Redwood variable tariff

These days, imho, all consumers have to be proactive energy customers.
Switching gas/energy providers once every 1-3 years. Fine.

The price cap increased 12.2%. So for customers to see 35% increases on variable rate tariffs is concerning.
I'd also argue that the price cap isn't working. Our energy use is marginally above average, yet this latest increase would see our energy bills rise to over £1600 a year, when the price cap is now at £1277. Obviously we are not on the suppliers standard variable rate tariff. AFAIK Ofgem has discretion to exempt green standard variable rate tariffs from the cap.
