Which Breakdown company WILL recover me AND my dog in event of a breakdown?

Currently with Nationwide Flex Plus, but am going to close that account.  I've just found out that they do NOT cover recovery of pets - only passengers which they define as occupants of the vehicle (excluding hitch hikers and/or pets/animals with the exception of assistance dogs)

Our dog travels most of the time with us, so I need cover that ensures they will be recovered as well.  A friend recently rang his insurer & they refused to recover him as he had the dog with them.  I've looked a AA & Nationwide wording & it's all at the discretion of their recovery driver.

Is anyone aware of a recovery company that will recover me and my dog in the event of a breakdown?

I use autoaid and I don't know the answer but on recent call outs they have asked about animals.
I would think it was always at their discretion to refuse e.g. if the animal was aggressive or not being properly restrained and therefore a danger whilst driving.
