    Morning folks!

    Welcome to @Chopchop55 and @Elisheba :)

Hey @ziggy2407 - great to "see" you :)

Oooof I know what you mean! September! I could never get my head round people liking autumn when I was younger but as I've got older, I appreciate it more. I think that I like spring and autumn the best - I think that the sense of change must be a bit invigorating. Weirdly I make all my biggest life changes in the autumn. Job changes, started my weight loss, joined a crossfit gym, joined MSE and started my debt-free journey. I think it comes from all those years of a new start in school... or maybe the change in the air brings a hint of freshness that blows away the muggy head of summer. Still, it didn't stop me from feeling a twinge of sadness as I realised that summer is pretty much gone and that I was drawing the curtains at 8.30pm last night.

I've been off work this week although OH has been working like mad - I've barely seen him! He'd moved his Monday lessons to today (this is a new thing). Lovely for £££ but I didn't plan on spending the whole week on my own! I have been busy though, pootling round the house, hoovering up "roundtuits". I've also tried to re-excite myself for cooking with the appearance of the chest freezer last week. I am filling it nicely. Been trying to get ahead with some healthier baking as our consumption of sweet treats (especially the loaded oreo choc cookie dough brownie type) was ridiculous during lockdown. Both of us have a stubborn half-stone that appeared in the last lockdown. I thought it would shift when I went back to work but I'm not walking much now, whereas I walked 2 miles each way in my old job.

    So today's small things:
    :star: B/L/D from stores
:star: Make meal plan for next week and finalise shopping list. OH has requested BBQ brisket. I made this for his birthday last year and it was INSANELY good.
:star: Wash on 30 deg and will peg out
:star: Message old colleagues re party and get them to pay me
:star: Bit of knitting - need some help from the expert knitters out there (I am especially batting my eyelids at you @foxgloves). I am working a blanket square with cables and vertical bands. Where I change from knit to purl, the stitches are loose. I have tried pulling the knit and the purl tight, and wrapping the yarn clockwise when purling (I knit UK style) but I still see a loose line. Any ideas please?

    Have a lovely day all

    Afternoon all!

I actually managed to stick to a budget and I do have money to last me this whole month! I just had to buy some car parts costing me £259.99 sweat_smile but I think I can get Fluid paid this month also!

    to do

    - update signatures
    - check which CCs need paying

    Hello all,
I seem to have missed this week - where has it gone?
    Anyway, today I have:
Walked dog - little so and so wouldn't go far as OH wasn't with us :D
    Home grown berries with breakfast
Cleaned bathroom, put clean laundry and various other stuff away, tidied kitchen etc
Load of washing, dried it on the line outside
    Leftovers for lunch
Helped out at the shop where I rent my sales unit this afternoon. OH swept the chimney while I was out - result!
Posted a RM surveys item at the post office after work
Cold meat from the freezer with salad for dinner.
Read meters and entered readings on energy company's web site
    Fed chilli plants
    Froze some raspberries
Really need to prep and freeze some beans! Running out of freezer space again.

We're at the vets tonight with my 5 year old cat, last time he cost us 1k.. But we got insurance after that and we're covered up to 5k. Fingers crossed we solve what's wrong with him..

Edited. We had to have him put to sleep due to him having a cancerous tumour :disappointed:

  • Morning folks

Finally going to see OH today as he's not working! Plans for today are forgaing (yay!) and then a meal out with OH's family (possibly yay...). On the plus side, the meal is being partially (quite a big partial) funded by the proceeds of selling my late f-i-l's things so not a big spend for us.

    MSE things today:
    :star: B/L from stores
:star: OH to the gym and picking up the shopping
:star: I finally managed to sort out my new gym membership - turns out when I set up the direct debit payment method, it didn't add the membership at the same time
    :star: Pick all the blackberries
:star: Did a free stretching video - actually really need to get back on this. I used to do lots of accessory stretching etc and I am so tight and horrible now.
    :star: Washing outside to dry

    Have a good one all
