Not sure if I’m allowed to post links (if not I’ll take it down)

    Here’s the whole property:

  • What a beautiful garden. I'd be happy to park a wee bit down the street if I had to, to have that view. But with a garage and 1 space you shouldn't have to. I'd be happy, dh wouldn't. Horses for courses.

Parking situation out the front (Saturday afternoon), note that the close only has houses on one side potentially alleviating demand for off street parking.

Lovely property - honestly I don't see the problem. Even with more parking spaces, people will still park everywhere.

And it looks like it's about an extra 10 steps to the house. We have no drive but a lovely house. Honestly you have the best of both worlds there (and quiet location)

Let's take your concern if you were in a relationship - you can use the garage if you really wanted both cars off street.

if you had 57 teens all with their own cars - well hopefully that wouldn't be for long as they move out and become adults - it's transient.

if you have guests/a party, you can never have enough space for everyone unless you live with grounds, so someone will always have to park on the road (it's not even a road in your case it's a cul de sac).

it's not a brand new house so the rooms aren't pretend bedrooms, it's not an old house so the walls aren't falling down.

    I can't see a down side.
  • I'd go for it if I were you, there's plenty of space for visitors to park just around the corner. I wish I could afford it. B)

There’s also people that have 2-3 spaces that chose to park a car on the road so they don’t need to shuffle them around.

I think I’m going for it.

That answers my earlier question about location - it's within walking distance to local facilities, railway station etc, not the sort of place where you'd need to get in a car to do everything..

Its a lovely house and with nearby street parking I can see why you would compromise.

That's a very good point as well. I know I walk more as sometimes can't be bothered to move the car, which is a plus point for me.
