Gas usage help!

To be more specific it used 2.573 kWh0

That works out at 15.555p/kWh which would be insanely expensive for gas, so presumably you read the electricity meter.0

Nope i have both meters on the website and its the gas... i was thinking it was expensive and i pay 24p standing charge too, but to cook some pork steaks for 40p seems way off so i thought id come here and ask for help.Gerry1 said:That works out at 15.555p/kWh which would be insanely expensive for gas, so presumably you read the electricity meter.
So do you guys think my cooker is faulty or its a meter issue? The gas got checked earlier this year and all signed off and you need to pay if the meters are found not faulty, but if its supposed to 1/4 the price, something is seriously wrong.

Shame you cant edit these posts... but the website literally has time stamps per usage too so its super easy to work out what was going on at what times and there was zero other usage other than me cooking.0

2.573 kWhs or 2.573 cubic metres. What tariff is your IHD showing?weehamish said:To be more specific it used 2.573 kWh0 -
If it’s m3 then something is wrong! Even 2.573 kWh seems a bit high based on my experience.0

I think you need to tell us exactly where you get the 40p cost from. Was it shown:
- on your in-home display?
- on the supplier's website?
- somewhere else?

Depends on the size of the steaks and how well done they are.

The OP has probably looked at the IHD ££ figure which includes the standing charge(s).0
