Ferry to UK - Covid checks

We booked Eurotunnel for the outward journey to France and the process was quite straightforward - uploaded all documents via their web portal, similar to API, no delays or extra checks at check-in.

On the way back it will be a PO ferry and they do not seem to have a similar facility (can't find any relevant info on their website either), do I need to prepare to dig through emails during check-in, what is the current process like?

Also where do day 2 tests for children go to, would an email showing ref number be sufficient as there are no fields on parents' PLF?

Hopefully someone who travelled recently could advise on what to expect. Thanks.

Update: First window - passports, second window - ferry booking, passports, pre-arrival test (called PCR, but both types are fine, we had the flow one from chronomics - took 30 min to do on the way to the ferry) and PLF forms. No day2. Gets tricky to show it all on the phone for several people but didn't take too long. Arrived 1.10hr before, had to wait 25 min for the ferry to depart - 30 min as they advise would not be enough, ferry was half-empty though.
