Dog Rose Spread?

7 foot wide gap under window, could i grow a dog rose plant and form a hedge, I hear most under window plants spread only around 3 foot so wondering if a dog rose might be the answer I'm looking for.
I can only put one plant in as most of the area is concrete with soil at one end. :#

You’re aware of how high they can grow?

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Yes i was hoping to keep pruning it at window height which for me is 4 and a half foot, might not be the best idea with other options out there i suppose as my neighbour has one in the back yard which is about 7 foot high.

I have a ceanothus under my window and its spread across the whole width, in fact i have to cut it back twice a year so it doesnt overtake everything.   lovely blue flowers in spring  and evergreen

Depending what you require, thorny burglar deterrent or just looks nice?

For thorns, nice scent & lovely hips, try a rosa rugosa, grow anywhere, tough as old boots, pruning, just hack it back late winter, or lop bits off if in the way, various type around

    I agree with farway.
Dog rose is about long arching stems. Constant pruning won't give you flowers.
I'm also impressed with the speed of ceonothus growing and the shapes you can prune to.
Rose blush noisette 1918 is a quick grower. Would spread and highly scented. A good dooer.
Whatever you will need to water at least for a year and hot weather as it will be in a rainshadow by the wall until it is established.
