Home Insurance £200 increase

Hi,
We paid £180 for home and contents insurance last year, but for our renewal, we can’t get a quote for under £400 and have tried all comparison sites.
Friends and family locally have seen no increase. We have made no claims and no change of circumstances.
Called some insurance providers to find out why there has been such an increase and they said they don’t know, its based on postcode.
Seems extremely unfair. We’ve had no flooding in the area or an increase in crime. Is my only option to just pay it?

Have you tried going direct to some of the big insurers like Direct Line, LV, and AXA? If you really can't find any quote lower than £400, you might have to pay this, but check to see if you could save money by improving the locks you have fitted to your doors and windows, and by fitting smoke alarms.
If you have accidental damage on your Contents, this is quite expensive, so you might cconsider dropping this cover. Please don't drop the legal expenses cover as this can be useful in all sorts of different circumstances.
You might also consider increasing the voluntary excess you are prepared to pay.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1
