Santander credit card account problems?

Is anyone else having problems with the Santander website?
I have a credit card with them and use it for bits and pieces and have a 'fixed payment' DD set up of £100. I usually make a manual payment by debit card clearing the full balance when I see it creeping up a bit although if there's just a few hundred I'll leave it and let the DD soak it up over a few months (I know I'm paying interest but it's miniscule on a few hundred quid so not bothered, I just do it that way)
Anyway my latest statement was £662 approx with a current balance of around £1050 so I thought just pay it off as usual with debit card, upon attempting that Santander said sorry that feature not available at the moment and advised 'faster payment'? so I do the faster payment for £700 (couldn't remember the exact statement balance so I thought overpaying by £37-38 would be fine) but then noticed on the statement page they would be taking the full statement balance on 31/08? well as I said I only have a fixed payment DD set up so why would they take the full balance?
I didn't want to go into credit on the account so I thought I'd check by ringing them, after usual 20 minute wait I speak to a chap who says yes they have got some glitches at the moment but not to worry he can see my faster payment and NO payment will be collected this month, fine I think. Wake up this morning, check my bank and see that Santander have took the £100 DD, not a problem because I knew there was approx £350 on the current balance after paying the statemented £700 so I was never going into credit on the account BUT what is happening here, I'm mystified, good job I hadn't cleared the entire balance OR I needed that £100, like I said at the beginning, is anyone else having any similar problems to the ones I have described or am I just the lucky one.

Where are you looking to see this mention of full payment being taken ?On the Credit card summary page it tells me I have a dd set up for full payment but further down under statement details it states that £5 minimum payment will be taken on 6 Sep. The View statements page shows the full statement amount will be taken on 6 Sep. I think that is where the glitch is. AFAIAA if you have a fixed amount set then that fixed amount will be taken irrespective of interim payments being made as long as it does not put the account into credit.1

On the credit card summary page it shows repayment option as FIX AMOUNT statement date 05-Aug-2021, balance of £663, minimum payment due £6.63, payment due date 31-Aug-2021 and finally a payment will be debited on or before 31-Aug-2021
It's on the statement page where it shows full payment of £663 will be taken 31-Aug-2021, strange?
Regarding the fixed amount payment I do know other cards like MBNA and Virgin still take DD regardless of overpayments except if it puts the account into credit but it's never worked like that before. I usually just pay the statement balance and whatever balance is still on the card carries over to the next statement. As I said not a major issue for me but for someone on a tight budget that unexpected taking of the £100DD after thinking the full statement balance was paid could cause an issue.0 -
Do you think paying more than the statement balance but less that the account balance is putting your account in credit?0
