    You can try, but I wouldn't hold your breath.  The company provided the service they advertised, and renewed the licence for you.  The fact that you could have done the same thing yourself for free is not the credit card company's problem.
    Yes, it's galling.  But they've not actually done anything illegal.  Morally and ethically highly dubious, certainly.  But not illegal.

    Try complaining to the company itself. 
    That has worked for a few cases. 
    All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

    Section 75 only covers payments over £100 (up to £30,000).

    And then only if the goods/services were not provided or were deficient in some way. This service was provided, as described for the agreed price. There have been some reports of these companies providing a refund in these circumstances (presumably as good PR) but I wouldn't count on it.
